Welcome to My New Internet Blog

My First blog…

My name is Tailor and I’ve been tasked by my professor to write a blog about the one thing we love; The Internet. So I’ll start off with a brief history of the internet. We start in the 1950’s in the height of the cold war when american scientist were tasked of creating a new type of communication if nuclear war were to break out. Those new computers eventually use certain codes to keep communicating with one another. But The Internet we know and love didn’t start til 1991, where we could actually surf the web. But in that time we used computer for security uses whereas there are people who use it to break our security to get our private information.

Some may wonder how does your computer know which computer or website to find and hack or disrupt it; Well they use whats called an IP address. Your IP address is a series of numbers or a dotted quad that talk to your website to your computer. We also use several other ways of communicating to one another. We use e-mails, social media, wikis, podcasts and blogs. Lets start with E-mails.

E-mails is a faster way of sending letters to friends, co-workers, bosses, job interviews, and even social media. When it comes to social media we need e-mails to find our accounts to login or remember our data, data we call Web 2.0. Why call it that? Well it contains thousands of years of information that we put on their along with all the other stuff we just put on the internet itself. But what do we do when we just wanna watch or put your own information somewhere.

That’s why we have wikis, podcasts, blogs, streaming media. We can alter information that we deemed incorrect when it come to wikis. We change it for fun, educational or just felt like it. Podcasts are a lot like blogs. Its just someone recording themselves on a subject for fun or to give their opinion on something. Blogs are the same, its just someone prefers to write about it. Streaming media is more for those who like to go live and talk anyone across the world. They use it to show off their skills, like gaming, playing live music, wrestling the list goes on.

But their is one thing that all of the ways of communicating need to stay alive. Money, they need money to pay for all of their wonderful luxuries in their lives. Like Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch all have ads or charge a percentage of your income you made on their website. Or they’ll just sell you stuff and deliver it to you for your convenience
